Medical Imaging

Bookings for x-ray and ultrasound should be made via your doctor or, following a referral by your doctor, at the hospital's general office in person or by phone on (03) 5775 2111.

Bookings can only be made with a referral from your local doctor or specialist.

X-Rays

X-ray appointments are available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between the following hours:

Monday 2.00 pm - 5.00 pm

Wednesday 8.30 am - 12 noon

Friday 9.00 am - 12 noon

Pensioners, health care card holders and DVA clients are bulk billed for this service at the time of presentation.

Those not holding the above cards will be invoiced for the Medicare gap - generally this is between $6-$12.

When presenting for your x-ray appointment, you must present your doctor's referral, Medicare card and / or concession card where applicable.

The standard duration of an x-ray is around 20 minutes, however, emergency patients take priority which may extend waiting times.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound appointments are available on Mondays and Thursdays between the following hours:

Monday 10am - 12.30pm

Thursday 10am - 12.30pm

Pensioners, health care card holders and DVA clients are bulk billed for this service at the time of presentation.

When presenting for your ultrasound appointment, you must present your doctor's referral, Medicare card and / or concession card where applicable.

Those not holding concession cards are required to pay a $72 - $103 gap fee prior to you seeing the sonographer. This is collected for Broken River Imaging by our general office staff - payment methods include cheque (made payable to Broken River Imaging), credit card or cash.
