Visiting Nursing Service

The Visiting Nurses from the Mansfield Visiting Nursing Service believe that one of the best places to get well and remain independent is in your own home.

The Visiting Nursing Service, which operates from Mansfield District Hospital, provides nursing care to all people regardless of age, income or diagnosis. The nurses aim to improve the health status of their clients whilst enabling them to enjoy the benefits of remaining at home thus retaining their independence.

The team of experienced nurses provide a range of services in the home or other agreed place, to a large number of clients within the Mansfield Shire.

The Visiting Nurses can help members of the community by:

  • Managing bladder problems
  • Assessing and managing memory loss
  • Managing medication
  • Assessing and managing wound care
  • Setting up a safe hygiene routine
  • Helping family members care for a frail, sick or confused older person
  • Linking families to other community agency's to help in the caring role

The service also provides Palliative Care, Hospital in the Home and Post Acute Care .
